I might be MIA for a little while folks.
My computer has threatened me with a system failure for months now and finally decided to crash and burn last night. I was quite distraught. Luckily, everything important is safely stored away on an external hard drive. However, the blogging might be sparse during the next few weeks. Just be patient. I promise I’ll be back soon.
P.S. Whitney's birthday is on Sunday. If you are lucky enough to know her, you should give her a call or drop her a line. What’s a birthday without a little fuss?

going to the zoo, zoo, zoo
I'm pretty excited because
it has been forever.
Unfortunately, most of the pictures I'll be taking
will involve other people's adorable children.
Meaning: I can't post them here.
Lame -- but necessary.
Safety first.
Please allow yourself to be content with
these cute animal icons instead.

tuesday send-off
He's getting married next month and has pretty much fallen off the face of the earth. But I figured I'd be a pretty lousy friend if I didn't at least try to celebrate. I'll be eating a cupcake in his honor after dinner. Any excuse for a cupcake, right?
I'll admit that I wasn't quite ready to pull the plug and watch this decade-long friendship fade black. Our college years have been particularly riotous. Ryan would always juggle his social and academic calendar around to make sure we squeezed in a good laugh before calling it a day. He knew when to listen and when to tell me exactly what I didn't want to hear [read: the honest to goodness truth]. He could drive me plumb crazy and make me laugh 'til I cried -- usually at the same time.
However, I'm pleased as punch that he's found the right girl to marry. I've always known those two love-birds would end up together -- it was just meant to be. The first time I met his fiancee two years ago, I thought, "Of course he's crazy about you." She's perfect. A real doll.
So even though we're at a fork in the road and it's time to say goodbye to this phase of life, I'm happy that both of us are standing precisely where we ought to be. Life is good.
