Last October, Dentyne launched a technology-free campaign. Canadians were encouraged to limit their use of technology as a social tool and engage in more face-to-face interactions. They believed that "nothing trumps the human connection." Of course, being close to others requires your breath to be minty and fresh -- which is why you should buy Dentyne gum. Clever, no?

I love the idea. I have a friend who refuses to join the Facebook network because he wants to peel back as many layers of his friendships as he can. He seeks to get to know people for who they really are -- not who they characterize themselves to be online.
