5 things

01. I take one of our kindergartners to the bus everyday after school. He has spina-bifida and uses a little yellow walker. He loves to chat my ear off as we saunter down the hallway. On the first day of school he showed me his little Lego watch. He has worn it faithfully ever since. That darn watch gets me every. single. time. It is just so precious.

02. I had two boiled eggs, a piece of toast, and a massive slice of cheese for lunch today. I felt like a peasant in Elizabethan England. Clearly, I've been reading too much Shakespeare. Now if I could only get through King Henry IV, Part One...

03. I love when people come and sit on my bed. Or lean on my dresser. Or lay on my floor. And then just talk. Talking is powerful, healing, and divine -- I hope we do a lot of it in Heaven.

04. I am so excited for General Conference this weekend. I can't wait for family, bed-head, inspirational messages, and French toast (hint, hint...). Plus, Dad and I get to skip our Sunday morning meetings. I love not having to wake up to an alarm clock.

05. Being an adult is overwhelming at times, but I'm grateful for the people that help me keep it together. I'm especially grateful for parents that are encouraging, validating, and wise. The five minutes I spend on the phone with my mom is the best part of my day. Believe me: nothing is more reassuring than parents who believe in you.

:) Miss Emma, I think you are amazing. I dont know whether you know this or not but I love the name Emma because of you. It happened at camp one year when you left quite an impression on me. I have always found you to be truly remarkable. I hope our little Emma has the same impact on the world someday. Thank you for always being a ray of sunshine and a beacon of hope.
